This isn’t from the movie. This is a sort of sequel mini series. They’re Disney shorts called “Dug Days”. It’s focused on Dug and how he’s adjusted from living in a blimp in the middle of nowhere to a home life with Carl. Sadly Ed Asner passed away after the series end. They released a special episode called “Carl’s Date” after his passing in his memory that was at the end or had just finished voice recording when he passed. Or they used AI to generate his voice to finish recording, I’m not sure on that one.
I sometimes tear up when I see that dog. I had a mixed chow chow that he reminds me of. She was a crazy and energetic as him. This dog makes me remember all of her wackiness and love.
Okay most of this was all just from the animated series that released not too long ago. In the original film, it ends with Carl, Doug, and Russell sitting on the bench eating ice cream together.
